Today is William Shakespeare’s Birthday!!
This gorgeous pen was designed by Omas in honour of the 450 year anniversary of his birth. Made from oak - the traditional wood of old England - and antique silver, the cap of the pen shows the imprint of his signet ring, held in the archives of the SHAKESPEARE BIRTHPLACE TRUST.
The cap itself, enriched by a clip decorated with a quill, is fully handmade in antique silver - as is the nib holder and tip of the Roller Ball - and is decorated with friezes from Shakespeare’s time.
An image of a writer, on the left side, complements the reproduction of one the most famous portraits of Shakespeare on the right. On the bottom of the pen, also made in antique silver, the original Parish Register entry is engraved: “Gulielmus filius Johannes Shakspere”. The nib, in 18kt gold, and available in the Italic style, is engraved with William Shakespeare’s initials, W.S.
Only 450 Fountain Pens were made, and to support their incredible work around William Shakespeare’s life, OMAS is proudly donating 5% of its income for every pen sold.
This money will be used by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust to support and extend its activity in promoting and understanding Shakespeare’s work, life and times.
